ELEMENTARY ALGEBRA, Harold
Jacobs. My sons, who are strong in math, were very happy when I switched from Saxon to
Harold Jacobs' material after they completing Saxon 76. Jacobs obviously loves math
and puts a very human face on it. The text book is engaging, with well-written
instruction, cartoons and challenging puzzlers. It is also accelerated, covering the
pre-algebra, algebra I and algebra II, minus the geometry, in the three correlating
Saxon texts. However, there is no solutions manual available and when Mike and Gabe
reached the Algebra II material, I hired a tutor to meet with them weekly. Student text
includes Set II answers.

GEOMETRY, Harold
Jacobs. Saxon Math has geometry interwoven into its algebra courses, but this is not
sufficient prep for SATs. Students needing a strong math background for college should use
this program. 3rd edition, 2003. Please note
